NLU requires all students to complete an experiential learning experience outside of class for their degree based on their major (for example an internship or field experience hours). For most majors, this requirement can be completed during the junior or senior year. Education, Social Work, Human Services, and Hospitality majors will have multiple terms of field experience hours required starting as early as their sophomore year. Refer to your 4-year academic plan and your Coach for your specific requirements.

Your schedule will be hybrid with one day in-person and one day remote (if your major and degree plan allow it). We are following the hybrid schedule based on student feedback, class size limitations, and to ensure that students to get the most out of their major and career preparation classes. If you have a concern about taking an in-person class and would like to appeal for remote courses only, click on the box below. This does not guarantee we will be able to accommodate your request since modalities are based on class sizes and course content, but we will look into alternate remote course options available (such as evening classes).
Vaccines are required for students attending classes in-person, unless with approved exception. For our most up to date Covid-19 policies on vaccinations, boosters, masking, and social-distancing, please visit: https://nl.edu/alert/
